Fast fashion refers to the “rapid production of low-cost, trendy apparel, often manufactured in countries with low labor costs, to quickly capitalize on current fashion trends.” Websites like Shein, Temu, and Amazon make it easy to “shop like a billionaire.” My daily relaxation routine since the pandemic has been to spend an hour or more browsing various websites for clothes and accessories. I was committed to improving my wardrobe, and I didn’t want to spend excessive amounts of money on clothes since I had closets full of clothing that didn’t fit. I had already donated about five contractor bags of clothing, shoes, and purses. Additionally, I gave away forty pairs of business slacks. Therefore, the items in closets and storage bags were available, but I couldn’t fit them. So I had to create a whole new wardrobe while focusing on losing weight with the help of GLP-1 medications. Within recent weeks, I’ve been able to go shopping in my closet, and most of the clothes purchased during the interim are now too big. I believe in purchasing clothing that can be worn for several years without going out of style.

In the pink picture, I’m wearing a suit I had not been able to wear in thirteen years. In the Mardi Gras picture, I’m wearing a skirt that, when I purchased it, I couldn’t pull over my knees. These seemingly small accomplishments are major to me. I feel so confident knowing that my long-awaited outfits are finally being worn.
